formed in chicago, illinois in 2001, fall out boy is a pop punk/alternative rock band consisting of patrick stump, pete wentz, joe trohman, and andy hurley. their debut album, take this to your grave (2003), is cited as one of the most influential pop punk albums of the 2000s and their 2005 release from under the cork tree went double platinum. infinity on high (2007) debuted at number one on the billboard top 200, however, their 2008 release of folie a deux was received by fans with mixed reactions and performed poorly commercially. in 2009 fall out boy went on hiatus before getting back together in 2013, and they've been touring and making music ever since.
